What we do
Year in the life
At Go Beyond, every year is a journey of growth and possibility. It begins in the fall, when a new group of young men are selected and introduced to mentors who will walk alongside them. Through the winter months, they participate in life skills and networking workshops and explore local businesses, gaining exposure to opportunities they may have never imagined. In the spring, the experience builds to a powerful three-day trip to Washington DC, where young men, mentors, and community leaders come together in transformational ways. And throughout the entire year, mentors remain present — checking in, volunteering together, and sharing meals that build friendships and trust.
Pathways to Success
At Go Beyond, we help you think beyond today and explore what’s possible for your future. Together with your mentors, you’ll discover four different paths—trade, college, military, or meaningful employment. You put in the effort. We help you make the connections that open doors.
Trade
If you like working with your hands and seeing results, a skilled trade could be your future. Our mentors connect you with real professionals and training programs that lead to strong, steady careers.
College
If higher education excites you, we’ll help you explore schools, meet students and alumni, and understand what it takes to get there—and succeed once you do.
Military
If service and structure appeal to you, our mentors help you learn about the different branches, training opportunities, and the personal growth that comes from serving your country.
Meaningful Employment
If you’re ready to start working after high school, we’ll help you connect with local employers and mentors who can guide you toward jobs that fit your strengths and goals.

Drive to Independence
Driving is more than transportation — it’s freedom, responsibility, and access to opportunity. Many young men in Rochester don’t have the means to get a license or a car, putting them miles behind their peers. Go Beyond is working to change that through mentorship, encouragement, and support for licensing, insurance, and even vehicle ownership.
Challenge
Without access to transportation, opportunities are limited. Jobs, classes, and even community activities can be out of reach.
Our Approach
At Go Beyond, we make driving part of the journey. Every young man is encouraged to work toward a driver’s license, learn the basics of car ownership and insurance, and develop real-world responsibility along the way.
